Quick Moon Snap

I like shooting the moon. It's a somewhat easy target, and doesn't take too much effort to get a nice shot. I've really been feeling the urge to get out there and take some astrosnaps recently, so tried to satisfy that urge with a moon snap tonight. This is with the Nikon D40 through my William Optics 66mm Petzval. The skies were relatively clear, but there has been some haze around Austin lately, not sure where or what from. 1/125 second, ISO200.

I am hoping that over the next few weeks, I can get out and shoot M51. I am dying to get a snap of that galaxy!

The haze is from the crop burnings in Mexico. Happens every year about this time, unfortunately.
