A Bad Run

So, for the last two weeks I have been driving around with all of my scope gear in the car, hoping to get out and use it. We have just had really bad nights here. Wonderfully clear during the day, and then cloudy at night. I've missed the new Moon for the month, and now I have to wait until next month if I want to get any imaging in. But, next month I am off overseas, so that's the end of that!

I'm going to get back into lunar and planetary imaging. It is something I can do from my front garden and I haven't done any in a while. Jupiter is supposed to be looking quite nice these days so I'll try shoot that at the next opportunity...

Jupiter seems to be good target these days. And now every year is higher on the sky in northern hemisphere.

We had totally different situation last week here - clear nights and no moon, perfect for deep sky imaging.

Yep - going to target Jupiter as soon as I get the next clear night, which is hopefully tomorrow...

Been watching your blog - excellent photos lately, especially your M31 shot! Very impressive indeed.

Yes, I'm hoping you'll get out tomorrow night and catch Jupiter without moons! I've missed it, too. Aside from that one rather hazy night, we've had nothing until tonight when the moon is full! No time to set up the camera, but I've been able to do some visual. Will be glad to see what you get!
