M37 First Attempt

This star cluster is a wonderful cluster in Auriga. It resembles a small city at night as you would fly over it...

Anyway, I attempted to image this tonight for the first time, using the D40 directly through my LX200. Sky conditions were very nice (I decided to get out to observe at the last minute, and glad I did!) and it was very chilly, maybe about 35F once I was done.

Image Details:
  • Nikon D40
  • Meade LX200 8" @ F6.3
  • 4mins 40 secs @ISO1600
  • Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker
