Fun with Imaging Down Under: Southern Cross

Dad and I decided to mess around with some wide field imaging tonight. The skies were clear, and transparency was decent as a front had just moved through. We set up the Nikon D40 on Dad's Meade tripod and aimed at the Southern Cross.

Southern Cross, Alpha and Beta Centauri. Also managed to get a hint of the Coal Sack dark nebula! This is a popular sight from Australia, and the Southern Cross itself is evident on the Aussie flag.
