I caved.
I just ordered a 12" Meade Lightbridge. The rebate offer that Meade is offering ends tomorrow, and I just couldn't resist the offer. Basically, you get a decent 12" reflector for $850.00. I know that it's not going to be the same as a Starmaster, JMI, Obsession etc. but for the price I think I am doing quite well. Right now I just can't afford the thousands of dollars needed for one of the other high end brands, so this will do just fine.
It is supposed to arrive before the end of this week, so hopefully next weekend will be a great one for me, astronomy-wise. I'll post pictures and a report once it's in and I've had it out for a trial run!
