With all the recent gossip and speculation surrounding potential signs of recent water activity on our red neighbor, I went back through my image files and found some snaps of Mars that I took a couple of years ago. (During 2003 when Mars got nice and close to us.) They were experimental shots that I took once I purchased the Meade LPI. Anyway, the shots were pretty raw and I ran them through Photoshop this morning just for fun, and result was pretty decent. It's a bit fuzzy but you can make out some of the darker regions, and you cn also just see the polar ice cap (top right).
