Nice shot. Are you gonna be out shooting the "supermoon" tonight? I have a D7000 with a 300mm lens, I had a few shots I wanted to share, is there anyway I can do that here?
Doug - Frame your shot as needed. Maybe you want to do a close-up of the Moon, or maybe you want it near an object for size reference like a tree, water tower, building etc. You want to focus as near to infinity as possible, but what I do is this: a. Turn on LIVE VIEW b. Center Moon in focus square c. Zoom in as much as possible using the + button at bottom left of rear of camera d. MANUALLY focus until the moon looks as sharp as possibe e. Frame your shot and shoot
Use a remote and tripod, obviously. If you don't have a remote, use the countdown timer option instead.
You can email me your shots at the email link at upper right of this blog!

That's a nice moon shot, focus issues aside!
