Sword of Orion - Final Attempt for the Year

Before I took the image of Comet Lulin below, I tried for another, better show of the Sword of Orion Region. This one is my best to date. I did take a set of shorter exposure shots of the core region but can't seem to merge the two together. Oh well. I am pretty happy with this one, though.

Image Details:
  • William Optics 66mm Petzval mounted atop a Meade LX200 SCT with Milburn Wedge
  • Nikon D40
  • 7 * 2 minute frames
  • 3 * 2 minute darks

  • Mild processing in GIMP
  • Noise reduction in NeatImage
