The Big Dipper (Ursa Major)

Tonight I took the D40 out and messed around taking wide-field shots of the night sky. I focused on the Big Dipper which sat high over the house. The skies were heavily polluted with light, but I just wanted to try out the camera on this type of shot. It performed fairly well under the circumstances. I'll try again soon but under darker skies, this was just a test. Click on it for the full size image.

Details:
ISO800
5 * 20 second exposures @ F5.6
18mm focal length
Stacked in Registax
Mild sharpening and curve adjustment
